Apiary register with GPS and forage mapping
Record home yards, out-apiaries and migratory sites with GPS, altitude, landowner/lease terms, water distance, shade, fencing, carrying capacity and a flowering calendar for the forage plants nearby.
From a handful of Top Bar hives to hundreds of Langstroth colonies, run your apiary on one record
Apiary register with GPS and forage mapping
Hive register across hive types
Colony records and strength tracking
Zinen Technologies' Bee Farm & Apiary Management System is built for beekeepers running Kenya Top Bar hives, Langstroth colonies, log hives or stingless-bee boxes across one home yard or several out-apiaries and migratory pollination sites. It replaces the scattered inspection notebooks and WhatsApp photos most apiaries rely on with one structured register of apiaries, hives, colonies, queens and harvests.
Every apiary is recorded with its GPS location, altitude, landowner or lease terms, water source, forage plants and flowering calendar, so a beekeeper managing several sites knows exactly what each one can carry. Each colony tracks its origin, queen status, strength (frames of bees, brood, honey and pollen stores), temperament and health, with inspections producing a colony health score and a recommended next visit date.
Honey, wax, propolis and pollen harvests are recorded per colony with moisture and Pfund colour grading, and every jar can be traced back to the hive, apiary and harvest date it came from — the traceability a cooperative, exporter or KEBS-conscious buyer increasingly expects. Sales, pollination contracts, equipment and expenses are tracked alongside the colony records, so a beekeeper can see a real profit and loss for the season, not a guess.
Bee Farm & Apiary Management System gives Kenyan beekeepers one structured record of apiaries, hives, colonies and harvests in place of scattered inspection notebooks, loose photos and memory, with full hive-to-jar traceability for honey sold to cooperatives, shops or export buyers.
The modules below are based on the underlying Zinen system design and show how the solution can be organized for day-to-day operations.
Record home yards, out-apiaries and migratory sites with GPS, altitude, landowner/lease terms, water distance, shade, fencing, carrying capacity and a flowering calendar for the forage plants nearby.
Track Langstroth, Kenya Top Bar, log, box, Warre, Dadant and stingless-bee hives, with boxes, supers and frames, hive condition and migratory moves between apiaries.
Capture colony origin (swarm, bait hive, split, nucleus, package or purchase), race, live strength in frames of bees/brood/honey/pollen, temperament, stores, health status and colony value, with split, merge and loss workflows.
Record queen marking colour by year, source, mating and laying rating, age alerts and lineage, plus queen-rearing batches (grafting, Miller, cut-cell) with an automatic day-by-day timeline and acceptance, emergence and mating rates.
Log full hive checks (queen, eggs, larvae, brood pattern, queen cells, temperament, space, stores, pests and diseases) with varroa alcohol-wash, sugar-roll or sticky-board counts, producing a colony health score and next visit date.
Maintain a disease and predator library with treatment records, before/after mite counts for efficacy, and honey withdrawal periods that automatically block harvesting until the hold expires.
Apply syrup, fondant or pollen-patty feeding and treatments across many colonies at once instead of recording each one manually.
Log swarm captures, bait-hive take-ups, call-outs attended and swarms lost, with captured swarms hived straight into a new colony record.
Record per-colony honey, comb, wax, propolis and pollen yields with moisture and Pfund colour grading, floral source, and an automatic lot number that traces every jar back to the hive and harvest date.
Convert harvested honey into bottled and labelled products with live finished-goods stock, ready for sale through shops, markets or export buyers.
Issue one-click invoices for bulk honey, bottled products, nucleus colonies and queen sales, and manage pollination contracts for migratory beekeepers hired to pollinate other farms.
Track suits, smokers, extractors and other apiary equipment alongside an expense register by category, feeding into a real profit and loss report per season.
Get automatic tasks for inspections due, queenless colonies, high varroa counts, treatment follow-ups, low stores, harvest-ready colonies, ageing queens, queen-rearing steps, bait-hive checks and lease renewals.
See apiary, colony, health, harvest and finance analytics in one dashboard, with alerts, a forage calendar and an overall apiary health score.
Generate a colony record card, apiary register, honey-lot traceability certificate and profit-and-loss report whenever a cooperative, auditor or buyer asks for one.

Yes. Each apiary is recorded separately with its own GPS location, carrying capacity and forage calendar, and colonies can be moved between sites with a full migratory move history.
Yes. A disease and pest library is included, with treatment records, before/after mite counts and honey withdrawal periods that block harvesting until the hold period ends.
Yes. Every harvest gets an automatic lot number that links the finished, bottled product back to the colony, apiary and harvest date it was collected from.
Yes. The hive register supports Langstroth, Kenya Top Bar, log, box, Warre, Dadant and stingless-bee hives in the same system.
Yes. Queen-rearing batches using grafting, Miller or cut-cell methods are tracked with an automatic timeline and acceptance, emergence and mating rates.
Pricing depends on the number of apiaries and colonies, whether queen-rearing and pollination contracts are needed, and reporting requirements. Zinen scopes this with you before quoting.
Yes. It is built with the African honey bee (Apis mellifera scutellata), mountain bee and stingless bees, absconding behaviour and dearth seasons in mind, while remaining usable anywhere.
